Musical Theatre in Brampton

Musical theatre — where acting
meets singing.

Musical theatre is the rare art form that asks students to do it all at once — tell a story, carry a tune, use their body, and do it as part of an ensemble. That combination is also what makes it one of the most powerful things a young person can do for their confidence, focus, and sense of self.

At SYNERGY, musical theatre is taught through our Theatre Production program, which runs at Paul Palleschi Recreation Centre in Brampton. It's built as a full arc: from the first day of ensemble work through to a live showcase for parents at the end of the program. No student is left in the wings — everyone has a role, and everyone gets on stage.

The Program Arc

From first rehearsal
to curtain call.

The program follows a deliberate arc — building skills, building ensemble, and building toward a live performance.

1
Early Weeks

Foundation & Ensemble

Warm-ups, games, and exercises that build trust, listening, and physical awareness. Students learn to work together as an ensemble — the foundation of everything that follows. No prior experience needed.

2
Mid-Session

Character Work & Material

Students explore their roles, develop characters, and begin working scenes, songs, and movement sequences. Acting, voice, and physicality are woven together throughout this stage.

3
Final Weeks

Rehearsal & Performance

The ensemble comes together in full rehearsal — polishing, refining, supporting each other. The program ends with a live performance for an invited audience of parents and guests. Everyone performs.

What Students Learn

Acting, singing & dance in
one performance.

Musical theatre asks students to integrate skills usually taught separately. In this program, acting, singing, and movement are developed together — because that's how they're used.

🎭

Acting & Character

Scene work, character development, emotional truth, physical expression, and ensemble storytelling.
🎤

Singing & Voice

Vocal warm-ups, musical numbers, pitch and projection — and performing songs in character, not just performing them.
🕺

Movement & Staging

Using the body confidently on stage — choreography, blocking, physical awareness, and how movement serves the story.
👥

Ensemble & Collaboration

Musical theatre is always a team effort. Students learn to listen, support, and create together — skills that go well beyond the stage.

"She comes home singing, acting out scenes, and talking about her friends in the group. Watching her perform at the end of the session was one of the proudest moments we've had as parents."

The Performance

Musical theatre final showcase performance at SYNERGY Brampton

The live performance at the end of the program isn't just a nice-to-have — it's the reason the whole arc exists. Working toward a real audience changes how students rehearse, how they support each other, and how much they grow.

Parents and family members are invited to a final showcase where the ensemble presents the material they've built over the program. Every student performs. Every student has a moment.

Yes — places in the Theatre Production program are offered by audition, held on Friday, August 28th. Auditions are relaxed and supportive; they simply help our instructors get to know your child and place everyone in the right roles. No preparation or previous experience is required.
Classes run weekly on Fridays from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Paul Palleschi Recreation Centre in Brampton — separate from our studio locations at 55 Mountainash Road East and 7700 Hurontario Street South. The program ends with a live showcase for parents and guests.
Private acting lessons are one-on-one sessions at our Brampton studio, tailored to the individual — great for focused personal instruction or RAP audition prep. The Musical Theatre program is a group ensemble experience focused on the collective as much as the individual. Many families choose based on temperament; some students do both.
