Group & Band Programs

A great way to get started.

Group lessons are one of the best entry points into music for children. The social energy of a class, the encouragement of peers, and the lower cost all make group programs an ideal first step β€” especially for younger students who aren't quite ready to commit to weekly private lessons.

At SYNERGY, group programs go beyond simple beginner classes. Our Band program gives students the experience of making music together in a real ensemble β€” performing at our annual events alongside private lesson students.

Students can join a group program as a standalone offering, or combine it with private lessons for a more complete musical education. Many group students transition to private lessons when they're ready β€” and that's always an option.

The Band Program

Real ensemble music β€” from day one.

SYNERGY's Band program is one of our most exciting group offerings. Students play together in a contemporary ensemble β€” rock, pop, and everything in between β€” learning what it means to make music as a team. Listening, timing, dynamics, and the pure joy of playing with other people are things you can only learn by doing.

Band runs year-round in weekly sessions and culminates in performances at our Annual Concert and Spring Recital. Students who join Band don't just learn to play their instrument β€” they learn to perform as part of something bigger.

Why Group Programs Work

The benefits of learning with others.

🀝
Social motivation
Kids who learn alongside peers often stay more engaged and motivated. A group class has an energy that's hard to replicate one-on-one β€” and that energy is contagious.
πŸ’°
Lower cost to get started
At $150 for an 8-week session, group programs are a genuinely accessible way to try music before committing to private lessons. A great option for families who want to test the waters first.
πŸ‘‚
Ear for ensemble music
Playing in a group teaches students to listen β€” not just to themselves, but to everyone around them. That skill transfers powerfully to solo playing and is foundational for musicians at every level.
πŸŽͺ
Performance from the start
Group students perform at SYNERGY's Annual Concert and Spring Recital alongside private lesson students. Band members are also eligible for SynergyFest and Festival of Stars.
πŸ”€
Flexible transition
Group students can move into private lessons at any time β€” or continue with group programs for as long as it suits them. There's no pressure to upgrade, but the door is always open.
πŸ§‘β€πŸ€β€πŸ§‘
Age-appropriate groupings
Classes are split into age groups β€” 5–8 and 9–13 β€” so students are always learning alongside peers at a similar stage. Nobody is left behind or held back by a mixed-ability class.
Choosing the Right Fit

Group or private β€” which is right?
