Sonia built SYNERGY from the ground up, guided by a deep belief that every child deserves access to great arts education. Her vision — rooted in RCM excellence, nurturing instruction, and a love of performance — has shaped the academy into what it is today. She remains actively involved in the studio's culture, curriculum, and community.
Victor keeps the engine running. As Owner and Operations Manager, he ensures that every student, family, and instructor has what they need to thrive — from scheduling and facilities to technology and community events. His behind-the-scenes work is what makes the SYNERGY experience seamless and welcoming for everyone who walks through our doors.
Our roster of over 30 instructors spans every instrument, every style, and every age group. Each brings university training, performance experience, and a warm teaching approach that makes students feel capable and excited to learn.
Kristin is a certified advanced RCM teacher and holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in piano performance from Redeemer University College. She studied impressionism and the romantics under Valerie Tryon and Dr. Paul Thorlakson. She focuses on gaining a strong foundation, while encouraging improvisation, composition and creativity. A SYNERGY team member for more than 15 years, she manages the music team, while supporting the other departments and their needs. She's heavily involved in developing our method book series, new courses and online offerings.
Music has been a passion of Kristy's all her life. Starting piano lessons at the age of 5, she participated in many recitals, concerts and competitions, placing and winning local and regional scholarships throughout her youth. Growing up, she was eager to learn more instruments, such as violin, flute, guitar and ukelele. Ms Kristy has been teaching and sharing her love of music for over 20 years. Josh is an accomplished pianist. He graduated York University with a BFA and is pursuing his Masters in Music Composition. His patience and creativity helps him find ways to tailor to students’ strengths and weaknesses. With a strong focus on fundamentals, his students obtain the ability to tackle any challenge and understand the art behind the music.
Aryan is an active composer and performer. He has a Bachelor’s of Music from Middlesex University and a Masters of Fine Arts in Music from Simon Fraser University. His chamber and orchestral music is performed internationally and most recently in Vancouver Pro Musica’s Sonic Boom Music festivals in BC. Aryan teaches guitar, theory, history and songwriting/composition. Aryan teaches a range of musical genres from rock/pop to many sub-genres of heavy metal.
Victoria began studying music under Mr. Yakov Walt. She successfully completed all the requirements of piano including ARCT performance and music theory from the Royal Conservatory of Music by the time she was 18. She went on to further her music studies in college and graduated in applied arts. Victoria has been teaching for 15+ years, preparing students for exams, recitals, and auditions. It brings her joy to help students of all ages discover the fun and and beauty of music through piano.
Leah is a versatile country musician with a passion for all genres. Specializing in piano, guitar, and vocals, she holds formal training from Metalworks Institute’s Advanced Performing Arts Program and has over 10 years of experience. Leah has performed across Canada, sharing stages with renowned artists like David Wilcox, Serena Ryder, and Logan Staats. Her single Time Some Country has been featured on Sirius XM, while her debut album Country Air earned a CBC Indigenous Music Award nomination in 2018. Her second album, Shine, released in 2020, receiving two National Aboriginal Music Award nominations. Combining technical expertise with heartfelt expression, Leah is a dedicated music educator who inspires creativity, builds confidence, and nurtures a lifelong love of music in her students.
Jordan recently graduated in the top 15% of McMaster University’s Honours Music program with a specialization in music cognition and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Music and Health at the University of Toronto. During her time at McMaster, she contributed to several research projects exploring the connection between music and emotion, driven by her goal of becoming a music therapist. Jordan has been passionate about music since picking up the euphonium at age 10 and has since excelled in classical piano and guitar. Known for her positive and open energy, she loves working at Synergy—fostering a love of music in new students and supporting them in reaching their personal goals. She's excited to continue sharing her knowledge and passion with the Synergy community.
Vani is a passionate opera classical singer and violin player. She is currently studying her Bachelors of Music Education at the University of Toronto as a Classical mezzo-Soprano vocalist. Vani has performed for various organizations across the GTA showcasing her true dedication to both instrumental and voice work. Moreover, Vani finds inspiration in a variety of musical traditions and seeks to further her education in ethnomusicology, music education, and operatic performance. As she believes the importance of music education, she is passionate to inspire upcoming generations of musicians by bridging the gap between performance and education.
Saumya is a passionate music teacher who enjoys helping students build confidence and develop their love for music. She completed Level 8 Voice with the Royal Conservatory of Music and is continuing her studies to create a strong foundation in vocal technique and musicianship. Saumya completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 2025 and is currently a teacher candidate in the Primary–Junior division in the Concurrent Education program, pursuing her Bachelor of Education at York University. With extensive experience working with children through camps, tutoring, and preschool instruction, she creates supportive, engaging lessons tailored to each student’s learning style and musical goals.
Jessica is an enthusiastic and supportive vocal teacher, with a pop, musical theatre, and choral background. Currently, she is the co-music director and Soprano section leader of York University's A Cappella group, WIBI A Cappella. She began her vocal training at the age of 8, joining pop competitions, and her local church choir, where she developed a love for group blend and harmony. She majored in Musical Theatre at Etobicoke School of the Arts, receiving vocal and theory training, as well as partaking in their women's choir and show choir. Throughout her work, her passion grew stronger within the performing arts. As a teacher, she aims to help students grow their technical skills, and apply performance methods to build their confidence as singers.
Arshdeep currently teaches both violin and music theory, bringing patience, warmth, and creativity to every lesson. Her teaching style balances structure with enjoyment, helping students feel supported while developing strong foundations. Working with children has deepened her appreciation for early musical growth and has aligned naturally with her academic path in Early Childhood Education. She has done RCM exams in both violin and theory. She is currently playing with Hillcrest Village Players for their upcoming musical.
Aliyah brings over a decade of classical piano training to her teaching, having begun lessons at age 5. She holds advanced theory and practical credentials from the Royal Conservatory of Music and completed the Regional Arts Program at Mayfield Secondary School as a piano major. Currently a Bachelor of Commerce student at McMaster University, she is passionate about bridging her artistic background with a future in marketing. Aliyah's teaching philosophy is rooted in patience and genuine curiosity about each student as an individual — taking the time to understand who they are, what drives them, and how they learn best, so that every lesson can be thoughtfully shaped around their unique needs.
Sierra is a dedicated singer and songwriter with a deep love for music. With over a decade of vocal training and performance experience, including solo and group performances. She furthered her education by graduating with honors from the Music Performance and Technology program at Metalworks Institute. Dedicated to helping developing musicians grow, Sierra tailors her lessons to each student’s individual needs committed to helping developing musicians grow while creating a supportive and enjoyable learning environment.
Rishika has been playing piano for over 13 years and is currently completing her RCM Level 10 certification. Through years of dedicated training, performances, recitals, and ensemble experience, she has developed a strong musical foundation and a genuine passion for piano. In addition to piano, she is also a singer and has performed in orchestras and musical groups. Known for being patient, encouraging, and enthusiastic, Rishika strives to create a positive and engaging learning environment where students can build confidence, strengthen their technique, and develop a lifelong love for music and piano.
Stephanie has worked as a professional actor on stage and screen, and has 20 years of training in the performing arts. Since Stephanie firmly believes that theatre skills are life skills, it is her mission to connect students, creating a community of likeminded individuals who are passionate, confident, and creative. In her classes, she incorporates teachings from the Stanislavsky System, Method Acting, Boal Applied Theatre, Stella Adler, and Naturalism techniques. Stephanie obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance from Acadia University, and graduated with an Arts Letter from Mayfield Secondary School’s Regional Arts Program, in Drama. When she was a student at Mayfield, Stephanie volunteered at SYNERGY in their Triple Threat and Audition Prep classes. Stephanie has trained for stage and on-camera acting in Canada, the United States, and in Europe. In addition to performing, Stephanie directed a one-act play in 2018 and has coached actors with auditions, monologues, and scene work.
DJ is currently in their undergrad at OCAD University in Toronto for their BFA, and majoring in Experimental Animation. They have been doing freelance work since 2020, ranging from corporate business commissions to website and graphic design for content creators. They love digital art, and are passionate about creating a safe and encouraging space of ideas and growth for students curious to enter the art world.
Julie completed the 9-year Diploma of Music in Piano Performance program at the Ho Chi Minh Conservatory of Music in 2018, where she received numerous awards and scholarships and participated in various recitals. As an aspiring piano educator, Julie strives to create a positive learning environment where young students can develop strong musical foundations, confidence, and a genuine love for music.
Avni has completed piano studies up to RCM Level 8 through the Ontario Conservatory of Music. She continues to stay active in music through annual participation in the Canadian Music League competition, where she has earned many awards for her performances. She teaches piano and music theory with a supportive and engaging approach that helps students build confidence while enjoying the learning process.
