About Our Piano Program

Brampton's most complete piano program.

Piano is SYNERGY's largest and most established program — and for good reason. Our teachers bring deep experience, genuine passion, and a curriculum refined over 30 years to every single lesson.

Whether your child is picking up the keys for the first time, you're an adult returning to something you always wanted to try, or you're preparing for RCM exams — we have the right program, the right teacher, and the right approach for you.

All piano programs include music theory. Our popular Piano + Theory option pairs a 30-minute private lesson back-to-back with a group theory class — the most effective way to build well-rounded musicianship from day one.

Our youngest pianists learn through play, colour, and story. The Music for Little Mozarts curriculum uses beloved characters like Mozart Mouse and Beethoven Bear to introduce technique, note reading, and a love of music in a way that genuinely engages young children.

Why SYNERGY for Piano

More than lessons — a program.

📚

The SYNERGY Method

We've developed our own piano method books — built on 30 years of teaching experience and refined to get students reading, playing, and loving music faster.
🎓

Skilled, experienced teachers

Our piano instructors bring university training and deep RCM experience. Every teacher is matched to students thoughtfully — experience level, learning style, and goals all considered.
🎵

Theory built in

Theory is part of the program, not an add-on. Our Piano + Theory option makes it easy to cover practical and written requirements in a single visit each week.
🏆

Consistent RCM results

Our students regularly earn Honours with Distinction in RCM examinations. That track record comes from the depth of preparation we put into every exam student.
🎪

Performance opportunities

Recitals at Lester B. Pearson Theatre, festival participation, and composition competitions give students real, meaningful goals to work toward throughout the year.

Common Questions

Piano lesson FAQs.

What age can my child start piano lessons? +

We welcome students from age 4–5 through our early beginners program using the Music for Little Mozarts curriculum. Every child develops differently — feel free to call us and we'll help you decide if the timing is right.

What's the difference between private lessons and Piano + Theory? +

Private lessons are one-on-one with your teacher — 30, 45, or 60 minutes focused entirely on your piano playing. Piano + Theory adds a 30-minute group theory class back-to-back with your private lesson. It's our most popular and most recommended option because theory accelerates your progress on the piano and covers RCM co-requisite requirements.

Do you prepare students for RCM exams? +

Yes — RCM exam preparation is one of our core strengths. Our teachers are highly experienced in the RCM curriculum and offer preparation from Preparatory level through ARCT. All exam components are covered: repertoire, technique, ear training, sight-reading, theory, and mock exams.

What if I just want to play for fun, without exams or recitals? +

Absolutely fine — in fact it's one of our favourite types of student. Our just-for-fun program is designed for exactly this: no exams, no recitals, just the music you love. Our teachers will work with you to build a program around your specific interests, whether that's classical, jazz, pop, film music, or anything else.

Do you offer online piano lessons? +

Yes — online lessons are available for piano students across Ontario and beyond. The quality of instruction is the same whether you're in our Brampton studio or joining from home. Theory classes are also available online.

What is your trial lesson program? +

Our trial program runs for 4 weeks — enough time to meet your teacher, settle into a routine, and get a real sense of whether the program is the right fit. There's no commitment or contract required. Trial pricing for music starts at $110. After the trial, you're welcome to continue or simply move on — no pressure either way.
